Are You a Leader? (Part 1)
Do you keep about a meter from others on the train or bus?
Do you wash your hands more often?
Do you place only what you need for about a week in your shopping basket?
Do you check on your friends and colleagues, especially those living alone, regularly?
Do you stay away from your elderly loved ones even as you are wanting desperately to see them?
Do you keep informed on what is happening every few hours?
Do you feel a sense of gratitude to, and are you in awe of, healthcare workers everywhere?
Do you see clearly now that all men are equal? That even leaders of leading nations have been struck by this invasion? That you and your neighbor both unlock your front doors to go in with a basketful of the same groceries?
Do you smile at your neighbor with compassion and understanding as you both unlock your doors to lock them again for the next eight hours?
Do you wonder, if you do not see your neighbor for a stretch, if everything is ok and do you smile with quiet relief when you pass each other next?
Do you feel a sense of victory and success when you read of communities that have managed to control this situation; where things have improved; like in Wuhan?
If your answer to all of the above was yes - you are a leader.
Remember: anyone, everyone, can make a difference.
